Call Forwarding: Other Systems
Instructions for VoIP systems, landlines, and other phone systems not covered by specific carrier guides.

VoIP Systems
RingCentral
- Log into the RingCentral admin portal
- Go to Phone System → Call Handling & Forwarding
- Select the user or extension to configure
- Click Call Forwarding
- Add your Need Theo number as a forwarding destination
- Set when to forward (always, after X rings, when busy)
- Save your settings
Vonage
- Log into your Vonage account dashboard
- Go to Phone Settings or Call Settings
- Find Call Forwarding
- Enter your Need Theo number
- Choose forwarding conditions (all calls, no answer, busy)
- Save changes
8x8
- Log into the 8x8 Admin Console
- Navigate to Users and select the user
- Go to Call Forwarding settings
- Add your Need Theo number as a forwarding destination
- Configure when calls should forward
- Save your settings
Grasshopper
- Log into your Grasshopper account
- Go to Settings → Call Forwarding
- Add your Need Theo number as a forwarding number
- Set the forwarding order and timing
- Save changes
Other VoIP Providers
Most VoIP providers have similar setup processes through their web dashboards. Look for settings like:
- Call Forwarding
- Call Routing
- Call Handling
- Answering Rules
If you can't find the settings, contact your VoIP provider's support team.
Landlines & Office Phones
Generic Landline
Most traditional landlines use these standard codes:
Forward all calls:
- Dial:
*72followed by your Need Theo number - Wait for dial tone or confirmation
- Hang up
To turn OFF:
- Dial:
*73
Note: If these codes don't work, contact your phone provider for the correct codes.
Office PBX Systems
For business phone systems (Avaya, Cisco, Mitel, etc.):
- Contact your IT administrator or phone system manager
- Provide them with your Need Theo number
- Ask them to set up call forwarding for your extension
Most PBX systems require admin access to configure call forwarding to external numbers.
Common Issues
"I dialed the code but nothing happened"
- Make sure you hear a dial tone before dialing
- Try waiting a few seconds after dialing
- Some systems require you to press "Call" or "Send"
"Need Theo isn't answering"
- Test the forwarding by calling from another phone
- Make sure you entered the full number including area code
- Check that your Need Theo phone number is active in the dashboard
"I want to stop forwarding but it won't turn off"
- Try the turn-off code multiple times
- Contact your phone provider's support
- Some business systems require a manager or admin to change settings
"Can I forward only certain times?"
Yes! Some systems support scheduled forwarding. Contact your provider for details. Alternatively, you can manually turn forwarding on and off each day.
